The negative reviews confuse me! I'm a Mexican food pro and this place was delicious. The salsas were tasty, especially when mixing several of the hottest ones!
I had the chimichanga (soft) with beef tips. The beef was flavorful and tender. My mom had the cabeza tacos and they were also delicious! Our server was very sweet and attentive. He had a great smile and was very friendly. -

I am still sitting in the restaurant and this has been a horrible experience. We don't event have our food yet. But the service is horrendous. We sat down they took our drink order gave us no silverware, no napkins. After they took our order our server seemed too focused on her table of friends to even notice I was trying to wave her down. My daughter spilled the cheese dip it took waving down a manager to get even get napkins. The server was too busy taking selfies with her table of friends. We have been here for almost 30 minutes. The food isn't here and it seems like our table isn't important to anyone in the building at all. We will never be back. I really hate it because I had heard decent things. But, regardless if the food is good. It isn't worth the stress to come back to a place that appears not to care about you at all.
Update after the food. It appears our server changed at some point and now a guy is our server who also doesn't seem like we matter. He went to refill my water and came back and said "I accidentally put a little lemonade it is that okay?" I of course said no. But who does that?
The food when it finally came out wasn't great either. My beef quesadilla was pretty bland and not very good.
I was so disappointed by this place on every level. But, it was feeling like we didn't matter that made it such a bad experience. -

Good, flavorfully food. I got simple chicken and rice plus chorizo, my son got the deep fried tilapia. We will be back. The little slalsa bar was a nice touch.

The staff is nice. The restaurant is clean. The food is typical. The decor is a collection of flags which always entertains the grandchildren as they try to identify the different countries represented. There is not any one menu item that stands out as particularly unique or noteworthy. Each time I've visited the service has been prompt; the food served at the correct temperature; and the managerial staff is always friendly and fun.
Located in Cherrydale Plaza, there is plenty of free parking so that's a plus. Now here's an update: if you ever dined at the prior location of Puerto Vallarta, PLEASE be aware--this new site is SO much cleaner than the previous one. SO much cleaner...and more open and brighter. Muchos improved! -

The number one thing that screams authetentic Mexican... the smell of Fabuloso! These tacos are great, but you can tell the are Americanized, that mexican POW! Is missing. I know they have it, their salsa is strong and wonderful. If you want Spice... I would be sure to let them know when you order you want them 'Mexican' spicy (Indian places do this too). They cook for the average customer who cant handle the spice!
